Path to Life Ministries - Leaders Conference

John and Richard land in Lusaka on Saturday morning and prepare for a long journey up to Solwezi (nearly 400 miles) with an estimated journey time of 8 hours. We are picked up by Evans Luwi and his driver Anton and leave Lusaka around 11am and make good progress. However, a few miles outside of Chingola we break down. This was about 8pm

It was going to be a long night... Evans gets a wood burner from a nearby village. 3 hours later, we're on the move again.

After a 36 hour journey in total we arrive in Solwezi at 3am. The conference was due to start 9:30 the next morning.

Just in case you think we're living a life of luxury out in Solwezi... In fact these buildings are exactly how they were back in 2009 - no change.

This is where Evans' church meet and where we held the leadership conference. Notice the children all around.

This building has been a wonderful provision to Evans through one of the local villagers who wants to see a school established here.

This is one of the areas we may feel we want to provide support.

This is Evans' wife, Maureen, leading the time of worship. She was due to give birth any day soon.

There were probably just under 100 attending the conference, leaders from Solwezi and surrounding areas, plus leaders from Path to Life Ministries in Lusaka. We believe those that attended God had chosen to be there.

Both John and Richard preached through an interpreter. In previous years, Evans used to interpret for us. The teaching included:

• Moving the Ark of the Covenant
• The importance of righteousness
• Crossing Lines you can't come back from
• God's Word; centrality of Jesus; work of the Holy Spirit

One of the mornings Evans took us over to view the plot of land he has purchased on which to build his home.

It was not easy to get to...

And here it is, complete with some initial foundations.

It really is in the middle of nowhere.

This is another area where we are considering possible support for Evans - building his home. He has already done much himself to get things started.

After another long journey from Solwezi to Lusaka on the Thursday, John and Richard visit the Path of Life Ministries, Lusaka - a new church that has come under Evans oversight.

This church has no musical instruments but this doesn't stop them from worshipping God together. It was awesome.

This is the leadership team in Lusaka. Again, this is another area of consideration for support. They are looking to buy a plot of land on which to establish their church.
