Having difficulty downloading nlc podcasts?

I'm sorry if you're having difficulty downloading the podcasts. It is actually quite difficult to get these things working on all platforms but I've done my best to cover all the main ones. If you are using IE, Chrome, Firefox or Safari then hopefully things are working OK. However, problems seem to arise when trying to download onto devices such as iPhones and Android phones.

The problems I have observed so far are typically with downloading of the podcasts and notes rather than playing the audio or viewing the notes which, seem to be working fine as far as I can tell. Some phones download the files successfully but then don't know what to do with them, e.g. you get "unable to open file" type messages. From my own experience, what I've learned is that the file has actually downloaded OK but you need to use some sort of file browser application to locate the file on your device and open it from there. For some reason, at least on Android, the "Downloads" application doesn't seem to want to open the files.

However, one method I've found that seems to work reliably is to NOT use the "Download Audio" or "Download Notes" links but instead bring up the menu on the "Play Audio" or "View Notes" links. This then allows you to select the "Save Link" option, or whatever is equivalent on your phone, which will then download the appropriate file to your device without the problems mentioned about. If you are using a computer, then to bring up the menu associated with a link simply right-click on that link. For touch screen devices such as smartphones, simply hold your finger on the link and this should bring up the menu for you to make your selection.

I'm afraid that's all the advice I can offer at this time. I will continue to explore solutions that allow downloads to work across all platforms without problems, but this may take some time.
